"Researchers at the Columbia Basin Rural Development Institute (RDI) have been busy researching the latest and greatest opportunities for indicator development to further inform future State of the Basin efforts.  The focus of the 2012 Snap Shot report and the 2012 Long Report (to be released in the Fall 2013) was on revisiting indicators used in the 2008 State of the Basin report.

New indicators and approaches have evolved over the last 5 years. A series of literature reviews produced by the RDI research team outline opportunities for future development of economic, social, cultural and environmental indicators.  Researchers have now started to reach out to key stakeholder groups to discuss the possibilities for future development.
